In the final step of the application form, we give you the option to either have us verify* your application details with your agency or with your preferred partners. Every travel advisor works within their own set of circumstances and that is why we offer 2 options.
Option 1) This option may be particularly useful for an employee or an independent contractor. We will contact your agency to verify* the application details that you submitted.
Option 2) This option may be particularly useful for a travel advisor who owns their agency. Sales data is verified* through the verification contacts that are submitted in the application form – much like current and common industry practices that have set a precedent for using this information as a reference in a job application, event attendance application, or other industry application to prove the validity of the person submitting the application. This step is done to ensure the highest quality of applications and membership.
The specific sales data submitted as part of the reference check is not shared with any person or organization other than the person or organization who is submitted as the verification* contact. The 1000 specifically only asks for sales data that is relevant to verifying* that specific advisor (not their agency and not their consortia) as it relates to their area of focus. For example, if an advisor mainly sells cruise, the application form automatically asks for mainly cruise references.
In accordance with our Terms of Service, by filling out the application form it is assumed that you have the authority to share your information in addition to provide accurate and updated information as required. If you unsure if you have the authority to share your information, please seek guidance.
“Verification”* is defined by The 1000 using its best efforts to ascertain the correct sales information related to an individual travel advisor. This information is gathered from the advisor and/or their agency, wherever possible. As The 1000 does not have direct access to sales reports, it cannot guarantee the information that is shared by the advisor and/or their agency. As per the Terms of Use of The 1000, the advisor is required to provide accurate information and maintain its accuracy over time; failure to do so results in the advisor the privileges of being a member of The 1000.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your agency, host, or consortia, as appropriate, or e-mail us at info@the1000.club.
